Traditional acupuncture

Traditional acupuncture, as practised at Marlow Homeopathy, is a safe and natural system of medicine which works through the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to stimulate the flow of energy (Qi). Stimulation of these points releases blocked or stuck Qi which, if left untreated, can result in pain or illness. Dating back thousands of years, it enables the body to gently find its balance, on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.

How can acupuncture help me?

Acupuncture focuses on your overall health, rather than the treatment of a specific disease. We assess how the condition you have been diagnosed with is manifesting from a Traditional Chinese Medical (TCM) perspective, and treat accordingly.  Acupuncture is helpful for a wide range of conditions, including the treatment of acute and chronic pain. The benefits frequently include more than just relief from a particular condition. Patients often find that it also leads to a general improvement in their health and an increased sense of wellbeing.

What does acupuncture feel like?

Acupuncture needles are very fine, and are inserted quickly, so as to minimise any feeling of pain or sharpness. Patients describe different sensations once the needles are in place, such as a tingling or dull ache, or feelings of release, relaxation and peace. Pre-sterilised single-use needles are used to ensure that there is no danger of cross-infection.
